			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I woke up this morning wanting to quit Jillian&#8217;s program rather than face doing one more of her workouts. I dread them. I feel like the world&#8217;s most unfit person. Actually, I feel that way only when I&#8217;m doing burpees, squat thrusts and mountain climbing. My legs feel like God has poured cement into  them just before I&#8217;m going to jump. I was going to go to the gym to do these workouts, but I&#8217;d be embarrased to have any one see me do a burpee. It&#8217;s truly pathetic. I can&#8217;t imagine getting stronger, I feel like I&#8217;m going backwards. Oh well, what else do I have to do.</p>
<p>The recipies she puts out on her web site are fantastic. Tonight, for example, I&#8217;m going to make Almond Orange Chicken with raisins and spices. Sounds yummy.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve also given some thought to staying away from the gym until the flu season peaks and wanes. Maybe a dumb idea, but it&#8217;s a thought.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday, I had to take the car in to be serviced. This gave me the opportunity to do some outdoor cycling. I rode my bike the hour back to the house. My gears slipped so that I had to work up every hill. The chain completely slipped right off and I had to get my leather gloves all greasy putting it back on. My feet were freezing because I got my shoes wet in the early morning frost. My glasses were fogging up because I was so hot and the outside air was so cold. But, I loved it. It was great to be out in the fresh air.</p>
<p>Today, I did my second Jillian workout. God! they are hard, hard! I took my time doing the exercises so that I did them properly. I sweated  tons. I heaved my body around like it weighed 500 lbs. I couldn&#8217;t do one exercise, but I sweated just trying to get into position. I really need a workout buddy. I looked on the JM website list of people looking for buddies and emailed a woman my age. I hope she answers me postively. I&#8217;m too tired and sore to be rejected.</p>
<p>I did 30 minutes on the exercycle so I could add more miles to my November 100 challenge. So far I&#8217;ve done 13 miles. I&#8217;m eating less now that I keep my food diary online and I&#8217;m working out so much. Less time and energy to eat.</p>
<p>I hope I can find a workout buddy so that i will stick to this.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I take back everything I said about Jillian Michaels&#8217; workout. I did one yesterday, and yes it was hard, yes it made me sweat, yes I complained like hell, but it wasn&#8217;t so hard I couldn&#8217;t do it. It was hard in a good way. I felt great after.</p>
<p>After searching thru the website, finding out what I get for my $4 a week, I discovered tons of stuff. Even though I don&#8217;t use the meal plans now, I may in the future. I&#8217;m really psyched about it. The workouts require equipment that I don&#8217;t have, but I can take the workout to my gym and do it. 35 minutes of cardio and 35 minutes of weights were a walk in the park compared to Jillian&#8217;s workout.</p>
<p>Her workout contains old fashioned calisthenics that I used to do a million years ago: jumping jacks, burpees, crab walks. I never realized how little strength and stamina I have until I did my first workout. And I know I can gain it all back, if I don&#8217;t wuss out. These workouts of Jillian&#8217;s are really more mind over matter than anything else. She (and I know it&#8217;s her team not really her) gave me a workout that suits me, so if I can stay with it, I&#8217;ll succeed.</p>
<p>As well, there are chat boards where you can talk to other members. You can find a workout buddy. There are other interesting activities you can participate in beyond your personal workout. It&#8217;s a great site. Take a look at it.</p>

<p>My <strong>protein shake</strong> for <em><strong>breakfast</strong></em> gave me plenty of energy to get through my workout. I know what I did wasn&#8217;t super strenuous, but I was happy not to be starving after.</p>
<p>Today, I received my first online program from Jillian Michaels. When I first saw that it was 5 circuit workouts, I though she was giving me my workouts for the week. Oh no! All of it was to be done in one day. I hadn&#8217;t seen anything so strenuous since a trainer in Phoenix handed me a workout to do. There is no way in this lifetime that I would feel compelled to do the assigned program Jillian set for me. Maybe if I were 25 years old, and had something to prove to myself, but I&#8217;m not and I don&#8217;t. It was unreal!!</p>
<p>I treated myself to <strong><em>lunch </em></strong>at an Indian restaurant, and enjoyed every mouthful. I know I should have passed on the <strong>naan</strong>, but what&#8217;s the point of <strong>Indian food</strong> if you don&#8217;t eat the naan. <strong><em>Supper </em></strong>was a <strong>green salad, tons of raw veggies and some feta cheese; </strong>so, the day was balanced.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I can&#8217;t believe I actually went online and signed up for Jillian Michaels website. I love Jillian Michaels from <em>The Biggest Loser</em>. If I was a multi-milillionaire with money to burn, I would hire that woman to kick my butt every day. She is awesome.</p>
<p>Once I signed up, at $4 a week, I looked at the site and traveled around it finding out what I was paying for. I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;s a great site for lots of people, but it&#8217;s not for me. I have a week&#8217;s free trial and then I&#8217;m cancelling my account.</p>
<p>I know all the tips and information she gives out. I&#8217;m not interested in her blog. I&#8217;m not interested in chatting online with people who would think I&#8217;m nuts trying to lose weight when, according to Jillian, I&#8217;m already at my  proper weight. I already use a food journal and an exercise journal. I&#8217;m not interested in the meal plans. I prepare all my own meals. What I&#8217;d be paying for is the use of the calorie counter and the calorie burning calculator. That would be a total waste of money.</p>
<p>I feel tons better today. So whatever bug I was incubating, I killed it with care. My brother, Paul, came for a visit and we went out for a <strong>75 minute walk</strong>. I did <strong>lunges and squats, the plank and side planks</strong> for strength <strong><em>exercises</em></strong> today. Tomorrow, I must go into the gym.</p>
<p>I had <strong>oatmeal, rice milk and fruit </strong>for <strong><em>breakfast</em></strong>. A mixture of all the leftover <strong>soups </strong>for <strong><em>lunch</em></strong> with a <strong>piece of sprouted grain toast</strong>, <strong>chicken breast and mixed vegetables</strong> for <strong><em>supper.</em></strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I had every intention of getting up and going to the gym today. It&#8217;s been 3 or 4 days since I&#8217;ve been. I woke up to a rainy, dark day and hadn&#8217;t an ounce of energy to get me to my car. I just wanted to sleep.</p>
<p>As well, I had told my brother that I would do some work for him. He pays me to do easy assembly work, and I was feeling guilty that I had been putting him off. So, no gym today.</p>
<p>I did get in a <strong>15 minute walk</strong> outside, but that was the extent of my <strong><em>exercise</em></strong>. Meals were light. I had a <strong>protein shake</strong> for <strong><em>breakfast</em></strong>, <strong>black bean vegetable soup</strong> for <em><strong>lunch;</strong></em> <strong>lamb chops and coleslaw</strong> for <strong><em>supper</em></strong>. Only <strong><em>snacks</em></strong> were <strong>grapes</strong>, an <strong>apple</strong> and <strong>raw turnip</strong>.</p>
<p>I start out so well intentioned and then bloody life gets in my way. Well, that&#8217;s an excuse I haven&#8217;t used before.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I had <strong><em>lunch</em></strong> with a good friend today, and didn&#8217;t get a chance to go to the gym. I needn&#8217;t have worried about overeating; Helje (my friend) and I did so much talking that we popped food in our mouths only to draw a breath. Except for the bread the cafe served, the food was not spectacular. Too much oil on the<strong> salad</strong>, and the <strong>gourmet pizza</strong> was ruined with some kind of bland cheese melted all over it. So, it wasn&#8217;t hard to keep control.</p>
<p>I did stop in at a bakery after saying good bye to Helje. I wanted something sweet so I bought a date square, and a cherry pie (for my mother). The <strong>date square</strong> was horrible. I hate it when I eat something that has tons of calories but doesn&#8217;t satisfy. I should have stopped after the first bite, but I didn&#8217;t have the sense to.</p>
<p>For <strong><em>supper</em></strong>, I had a <strong>salad with tuna</strong>. I had only a small piece of cherry pie. It was yards better than the date square.  I felt I needed to exercise away the demon date square and the <strong>cherry pie</strong>, so I <strong>exercycled for an hour</strong> while watching Law and Order on TV.</p>

<p>I can&#8217;t believe I simply accepted that somehow I gained 5 lbs when I was exercising more and eating less.But the scale looked to be so space age modern. I will never trust it again. I think the club should install one of those scales that you have to move weights along a bar until the needle balances. Those are scary to use, but I trust them.</p>
<p>Anyway, according to my scale at home and my doctor&#8217;s scale, I weigh 154 lbs. Thank God! I never lost 5 lbs. so quickly.</p>
